Walking Up The Foggy Slope Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

Walking Up The Foggy Slope

Rating: 5.0

The morning is all milky
Can hardly see very far
The slope unusually steeper
Starry-eyed silhouettes dancing in the future
The future, which I must walk towards
Like demons emerging from the ends of the earth
Like walking back into a predatory past
Scary sounds in my fogged brain
You could hear them, if you cared to
The misty wet feeling on my terrified skin
Losing its enchantment because of the mystical surrounds
Then suddenly the sun peeped out of the eastern horizon
And the fog receded, and cleared
Every scary sound is hushed
Yes, it was sunny and bright in my head once more
My future danced gaily in the clear skies
My life made sense once more!
