Walking The Dog Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Walking The Dog

Rating: 5.0

Freed from lead and dashing into woods
Seeking for thrills, adventure, new smells
Tail wagging rushing through the undergrowth
Sniffing scents of rabbits and fleet-footed deer
Cautious and wary when confronting badgers
Returning swiftly for human protection.
Joyful and boisterous to meet other dogs
Giving friendly greetings, sniffing rear ends
Then dashing away together into the trees
Barking with delight at being a dog.
