The summer sun blasts its relentless rays
On the city streets.
Sweat pours from brows of busy commuters
Rushing hither and thither
With stress and bother
Desperate to make that urgent appointment
Frustrated at the standstill traffic.
Boiling in the stifling heat
At the point of collapse and defeat.
On the other hand
Tourists visiting from abroad
Taking leisurely strolls
With no timetable or agenda
Absorbing the sights and history
Walking on the shady side of the street.
