Anxiety! ! ! With the thoughts of life. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
That feeling in the night beyond sleep and uncertainty in the wee hours that are unknown by the hands of the clock we are open wide to the universe and we are exposed for a time. The fear can be laid to rest because they are us and we have that power, the coziness of sheets and the acceptance that we are loved by many is a sweet lullaby.
We have the power over our minds but sometimes it's hard to stop thinking That's my practice. Thanks Edward
A few things on this one, Norah. First, you might relate to my short poems- Awake at 2 A.M. Awake at 3 A.M. After Night of Troubling Sounds We are indeed vulnerable- as you describe, as it strikes us occasionally. I address this in my poems Who are We and Thinking of One Just Passed. But, as you know, this is cause for gratitude- that we have what we need, that we are safe. And lastly, I think of the message the 14th century mystic Julian of Norwich heard from God, which she reported as And all shall be well. All shall be well. Glen
