Wake Up Comments

this is another one of yours i have enjoyed. not sure if i'm at liberty to comment, given the caliber of the poets below me, but i esp. like your opening lines & the buk inser really makes the piece ''wake up.''

Besides this being a worthwhile read, I want to let you know that a film about Bukowski (whom I've never read, but will look into) is coming out this year/next. I've forgotten the title... his name isn't in it, but it stars Matt Dillon. Sounds like a good one.

I really like the first stanza, first 2 lines are wonderful. I don't think I completely grasp the last stanza, though it may be my own density. Your use of language seems generally quite conscious. I like your ending, which is also basically your title. I'm a little foggy on its connection with just what precedes it.

Lori...this is a very good poem and I can appreciate your allusion to Bukowski. I'm going to go peek at some more of your poems.
