Wake Up Poem by Ashleigh Wiggins

Wake Up

Rating: 5.0

Embroider your ambitions upon my skin;
Bind your whims against, the stem of my brain,
Stitch your dreams within my goals.
And affix your life atop my own.

/wake up, Wake UP, WAKE UP/

I adorned the artistry of your aspirations;
I savored the droplets of your desires,
I../wake../..cherished the tattoos of your truths,
I loved the way you /wake..up/ changed me.

/WAKE UP/

You..changed me.
Pricked my skin with your needles of lies,
Bound my mind with your steeled words,
Tore apart my dreams, used the pieces- -to stitch together yours,
And affixed my life *beneath* your own.

/I..woke..up/

I abhor the deceit you called art;
I despise the bitter taste of your betrayal,
I resent the ink of your insidious lies,
I hate the way you controlled me.

I'm awake now.
Your reality, no longer stitched to my dreams.

I'm awake.
