Waiting To Remember Poem by douglas lewis

Waiting To Remember

Today?
No.
Tomorrow?
Perhaps.
It starts with the sound
Of the elevator.
All my hopes in tune
With its rise.
A face to recall the memories.
Someone who knows my life.
But there is never
A knock on my door.
