Wait, Let Me Cook Under The Sun

Tell me not,
I know not anything
About your food security,
About your awas yojana,
About your employment guarantee,
About your mission sakti.
See me I am half naked
As before.
See me I am here under this tree
On this road side as before.
See me I am hungry
And see me I am busy in
Collecting leftover paddy
By digging rat holes
As before.

I am a poor woman,
No one is there
Nothing is there
To alleviate my suffering.

What is government,
Who is government
And where it is
I know nothing.
But like you
Some other people came
Yesterday to me
And beg for vote.

Alas, what to do,
I know not, though
Ready to do for your
Welfare.

But wait let me
Finish to collect first
The paddy and dry it
And cook it
Under the sun
To feed my naked and
Hungry naked five year old son.
