Wahdatulwajûd Poem by Mohammad Younus

Wahdatulwajûd

Wahdatul Wajûd

Seven blind men In a city
Go to see an elephant in a fair
The first notices the hefty body.
The second feels the exquisite
trunk
The third praises the precious tusks
The fourth touches the pendent ears.
The fifth admires the sturdy legs0
The sixth grabbes the waving tail
The last seeks for little things
He finds four thick and spungy feet.
From what each observes
They draw the shape of the beast.
As they feel and fancy
Thus, the philosophers think of God
And tell their wondrous tales
"Our God is such and such"
Each says the different truth
But not the whole truth
See what the seer faqër says
Behold! " all in One, and, One in all "
