I tried to leave you a message about this poem, and also about the English minister John Donne, roughly a contemporary of Shakespeare, who used conceits in his work. Conceits are elaborate metaphors. I don't know if you received my first message, so I am sending it a second time. Let me know, if you would, if you received both messages. Thanks, Dennis Ryan

Kostas, does this poem reads better in Greek than in English? Does the meaning of the poem differ, if only slightly, between the two languages? Have you read the poetry of the English cleric John Donne, who is roughly contemporary of William Shakespeare, for his use of clever conceits? Conceits are elaborate metaphors.

I think it's better in English because I originally wrote it in this language and then I translated it.John Donne is almost completely unknown in Greece.Only Biathanatos has been translated and a few other poems.I searched for him now that you mentioned him.I had read some of his sayings from a site.
