Two people conversing
Often land up fighting
When thoughts are clashing
And dire need becomes proving.

I finally finished reading and commenting a day or two ago, at least. But i don't see most recent comments. I hope they were not received and deleted by Varsha. (cont.)
(cont.) I've come to learn that silence often serves a wonderful purpose to defuse a very bad situation here in my own home, giving one or both of us time to calm down etc. But words are often well worth trying before using silence, even though words often start the trouble. ; ( bri
Well thanks to Silent PoemHunter, I've just lost a fairly long comment i tried to leave. Basically, I'll say that interpreting silence is not foolproof, and can lead to very serious misunderstandings! ! ! And using words also can cause problems, due to the speaker and/or the listener. (cont.)
I DO LIKE YOU AS A PH FRIEND, but much of what i read was unclear, in meaning, to me or, at times, maybe even contradictory. Well, maybe i'm just not 'tuned in'. Maybe my ability to understand is damaged by all the...I don't know what! ! (cont.)
(cont.) Well, Varsha, I've read others' comments and am nearly stunned at how they all heap praise on your poem. But i MUST SAY, at least so you know it, that i did not agree with most of their praise. : ( (cont.)
stanza 10: I was surprised to learn that 'introspect' is a word. There are 'tons' of English words I've never heard of, or don't know well enough to use properly. ;) (cont.)
From the wording of the poem, I failed to know which of four definitions, I found online, applied to 'incongruence' in stanza five. (cont.) . : (,
I may return with more comments. I have not finished reading poem. It appears you are not set up on PH to receive 'Messages'. Do you WANT to be set up to receive them? I know I and many others ARE set up to receive them. bri : ) I may return here. : )
stanza 2: you switch from present verb tense to past tense and back to present tense. : ) I would keep it in present tense.
'land up fighting' I would say 'end up fighting' '...dire need becomes proving' Perhaps you refer to when one or both want to prove themselves correct or the other incorrect? I get accused of that at home sometimes. ;) bri
A profound, wise and beautifully wrought poem, with charming rhymes.5 stars.
Silence is another language by itself and those who have learned this art they seldom fails in effective communication, we all are born with this inherent quality but someone our tongue rules of other parts. Great poem, liked it Varsha Ji.5******
Let me explore! Meanwhile, Top stars for this poem as well...... : )
What i have learnt today is there are two sides to silence. It could be positive or negative.
Inspired by her poem, you have written a long poem on silence, most interesting.
Dear Varsha, this is a powerful poem on silence. I just read Rose's brilliant poem on silence
I am glad that my poem inspired your wonderful pen to create an amazing poem.
Every stanza stands out giving insight on the effects of silence.
(cont.) I had little to say that was positive about the poem. In fact, I'm sure i sounded quite negative; I say what i feel without wanting to cause 'bad feelings'. bri ;) p.s. I shall comment no more here.
