Voice Of Immortality Poem by Jacson Gelato

Voice Of Immortality

Rating: 5.0

"Enter" said a voice in my little ears,
I was terrified of her
she was my school teacher
I was just a toddler,
kids never like school at that age.

"Enter" whispered a voice again
this time it was the court hall
I was terrified again
I was an attorney now
I did not know if I should talk the truth
or hide the reality
I blurted half truth and half lies
and felt contentment and resentment.

"Enter" said the voice aggressively
this time I was at the mortuary
I was so terrified and afraid
several people were weeping
there were many who had died
in an explosion in a cafe
one among them was my best friend.

"Enter",said the voice softly
this time it was my own voice
asking my own self to sleep on the bed
I was quite terrified and tensed
it was time to face the lights
and the doctor was injecting me
waiting to operate upon me.

"Enter" said a voice so unknown
this time I was not terrified
I had walked all the bridges of life
I had reached the end
I saw a light, I saw an angel
perhaps it was the heaven
I walked past the tunnel
and on the other side was God
so busy deciding whom to forgive
and whom to give back their life;
He chose me and I opened my eyes
I was there in the church
in the midst of my family standing
and singing aloud the hymn -
"God's love is so wonderful"
I was never terrified again.
