I think you are my secret twin. I had several 'special' trees, one at school, one at home, and only climbed the one at home. I felt untouchable up there camouflaged among the silver maple leafs..did secret agent spying on many an unsuspecting passer-by, I did..and secret code too, and still read and write it..have befuddled many a person with it, but one sweet savvy high school teacher made me write a message so he could decode it (truth be told, I was a little sweet on him- a crush- but so horridly shy he would have gotten no sign of it back then lol) ..decided adults weren't all as screwy as they sometimes seemed. I enjoyed looking through your eyes at your old neighborhood..wonder would my eyes tell the same tales? Methinks yes, the cars and houses are in much worse shape now, the inhabitants buried in graveyards by now, or almost. Nobody prepared me for the way everyone I knew was going to disappear, even childhood friends..the one I still talked to died a few years ago and I never found out till last month..what is so darn important in this life that we never go back again- until it's too late?

Robin, in a world that can be so disappointing in adulthood you managed to find a wonderful memory of your childhood. What beautiful thing that is. It actually brought a tear to my eye because sometimes I wish I could go go back to those days of innocence. Really touched my heart. Lynn Stillman
