Vincent loved to have models to do his paintings.
When Theo's monthly fund arrived,
Every morning, he went round in search of models.
He would invite different kinds of people to his house,

He deserves to be freed from loneliness. And unlike some of the other women that had been a part of his life, Christine appears to be a kindred soul. So happy to read that a deep bond had developed between them!
Ever So Deeply Beautiful and so heart moving! .. Beautifully written of beautiful heart! ..
This is how two solitary spirits come together and share common bonding. Geeta Ji, you brought tiny particulars to flawlessness through this poem.
To love, to be loved, is a lyrical, lilting, love poem of life! Sharing your time with someone you love. It's an ode to Vincent's life bereft of loneliness. Thanks, Geeta ji.
oops! Did you mean '...he met a few painters' or, as you typed, '..he met few painters'? ? Or 'quite a few'? And whst is your use of 'Sien'? Was that Chritine's last name or nickname? bri ;)
Geeta, In your Poet's Notes I do not understand your use of 'He met few painters in the Hague/
AND: (I had to delete the 'dollar sign' from this) 'Portrait of Dr Paul Gachet still holds the record for the most expensive Van Gogh, although it sold as long ago as 1990. At Christie's it fetched 83million dollars (US, I presume) , then the highest auction price for a work by any artist.'
(cont.) 'Published every Friday, his stories range from newsy items about this most intriguing artist to scholarly pieces based on his own meticulous investigations and discoveries'.
FYI: 'Adventures with Van Gogh is a weekly blog by Martin Bailey, our long-standing correspondent and expert on the artist. ' (cont.)
'Would that I could paint like THAT and get paid BIG BUCKS! I think he did NOT accumulate wealth. (cont.)
Would that I could paint like THAT and get paid BIG BUCKS! I think he did NOT accumulate wealth. (cont.)
My BIG QUESTION is 'would I LIKE to 'bond' with Christine, like with glue? ? Maybe if I read your poem I'll get my answer, T.T. And THAT painting! I have the original......, not!
You have found so many Van Gogh paintings that I didn't know about. And this is a moving window into Vincent's tender private life. If things had gone more smoothly for him, he could have had the best of both worlds, art and domestic warmth.
Another wonderful episode in the life of Vincent. We had seen the entry of Christine into his life Some episodes back. Here see how her presence influences him and his work.
Full marks for this biographical poem.
