Vincent Van Gogh 66 - Running & Chasing Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Vincent Van Gogh 66 - Running & Chasing

Rating: 5.0

Vincent could not understand what happened.
He shouted out: "Kay! Kay! Don't run away! "
The sound of Vincent's voice terrified Kay, even more.
She ran very fast, holding her son in her arms.
Seeing her run, Vincent too, began running after her.
Kay was panic stricken, when Vincent began following her.
But it was not easy running so fast holding her son.
She tripped and fell on a muddy patch in the field.

Vincent ran madly, his hands thrown in all directions.
He was totally flustered, as he chased Kay.
When he caught up with her, he flung himself
Beside her and grasped her hand quickly.
Heavily breathing with a glint in his eye,
Vincent muttered in a gruff voice: " Kay!
Why do you run away from me when I love you so? "
Vincent continued, unmindful of Kay's reactions.

"Can't you see, I've got to have you.
You love me too, Kay. Don't be frightened.
I'm only saying that I love you.
We will forget the past Kay, and begin a new life."
The horror in Kay's eyes, now turned to hatred.
She wrenched her hand from Vincent's grasp.
Kay wanted to run far, far away, from this
Abominable situation and this despicable man!

Jan woke up and was startled at the commotion,
Seeing his mother so upset, the boy began crying,
He held on to his mother with his arm tightly around her.
The boy was so terrified, even to look at this man.
Vincent ignored Jan's frightened look and continued:
"Kay, dear, can't you say that you love me just a little bit? "
"No, never, never! " she screamed at Vincent. Hurriedly,
She ran across the fields, on to the road and disappeared.

Love is an enigma!
It becomes complicated,
If it is one sided.
Love should be mutual
In order it to be joyful.
If not, love is bound
To collapse and is doomed
To end most tragically!

I have read both books. Van Gogh was not an easy man to be with. Well done.
