Veils And Chains Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Veils And Chains

A well-set hair,
A rich robe;

The jewels!
The rings,
Your outer garments;

Ornaments! !
Perfume boxes,
Earrings,
Bracelets,
Veils and chains.

For you to be wives of one man!
At the time of the end;
In focus! ! !
Well-beloved.

Laws!
Traditions,
The very custom seen around;
Cultures! !
Common to the world.

Obscurity! ! !
From the darkness of swooning!
Adoration,
Veils and chains;
Admiration,
For you to be wives of one man.
