A seventy year old senior colleague of mine who has lost his wife recently, confided in me, 'nobody comes to a lonely old man, except the mosquitoes'. This poem, however poignant, touches the readers. Congratulations to the poet on his poem's selection as the 'Member Poem of the Day'!

'When I was a child I was not aware of the things What would I be At the evening part of my life, Or of caring for death' - Life, methinks, has a beauty in each stage, dawn to twilight. Even a man at the doors of death may have something to look at and revel in.

A poignant write about old age and its negligence by kiths and kins. As the man gets older he becomes a burden for the family and waits for his death with vacant eyes. Touching poem. Thanks for sharing and congrats.

The poet contemplates about death, strangely comparing it to motion which somehow makes him evaporate. Also how he never knew what death would be like when he was older. Now he is older.

Superb in its expression and profound in its content. Life brings so much variety from beginning to the end- from moments of joy to the moments of excruciating pain related with disease and old age. Thanks & Congrats. To MyPoemList.
