On BBC
I saw a lady
With a broom,
No, she is not
Using it to fly.
She was
Clearing her
Window sill
Of the shreds
Of glass,
After her window
Was shattered
In a bomb blast.
Ukraine 2022!
She was sad, sure!
But fearless
The grit on her face
The glow in her eyes
The resolve on her lips
Her taut cheeks
Her firm hands!
Her body looked weak
May be short of food,
But her heart
strong and bold,
True,
War has changed
The hues of her life,
But that has
not changed
Her view of life.
She says
Through her eyes,
"Each Ukrainian
Is equal to
Seven soldiers
Of Putin.
We will
Decimate them."
Valour is …
THIS!
Valour is this! .. In a heart breaking situation! .. An excellent very heart touching poem! .. May God be with! ..
I value the inner strenght and determination expressed in this woman's being, still perpetuating life where death is all over the place.
Good poem, Unnikrishnan. A war-window scene, determined, beautifully brought out
An immensely great feeing, sir, to read your message
My notes on the comments of Poets Akham N Singh and Becca are missing. PoemHunter is playing truant again.

I would like to translate this poem
But her heart is strong and bold! .. The hues of her life was changed but not her views on life! ..
