Congratulations Dave on this great write selected as Poem Of The Day! Powerful write you say so much in just a few lines!
Excellent. Sense of stopping the right moment is one of the main criteria perhaps of art. Here it has happened.
I could not grasp the idea until I read your notes. I can understand the obsession. Now that you are free from the obsession, you can feel the difference. One can think and reasonably so. Thanks for sharing this small but meaningful poem.
A great message for others Dave. But to still think of it, that's pretty tough. Well done! Hey.... Have you found another BAD habit?
Congratulations, both on giving up smoking and having this poem selected as Poem of the Day. Well written. The way I tell I'm alive is, I read the obituaries every morning, and if I don't find my name, I assume I'm still living.
A little update, it is now 14 of February 2015, and I still have not had a cigarette.
I really like the simplistic way this makes me aware of being alive; and aware that it is very good to be so. Wonderful Dave.
Yes, you are alive, and will be until you are able to learn and face the new. Good luck.
Brilliant way to express your resolve in as much of brevity as possible. Thanks for the share.
a good write Dave. hey Dave don't give up yet. It will get better as each day goes by. I did it many years ago now and if I can you can also. I used to smoke like a fool ha ha one day I decided enough is enough I stopped and I have never touched another one, and I don't ever plan to again. (the first year is the hardest after that smooth sailing) good luck
I used to smoke roll ups when I worked on the buildings and the Railway. I still do when I have a drink, I call it social smoking. Who am I kidding! Nice poem though.
I stopped smoking when they went up to £1 a packet. A good poem Dave.
O yes, you are correct Dave. Our live are wrapped in our thoughts. nice write and kudos. Thanks for your interest in my poems. God bless
My God! Forty rolls a day. God has blessed you with a strong physique. Please lower the quantity of liquor consumption too every day, if you have that habit. May God bless you to live long and write short verses like this with rich content of meaning. Thanks a lot.
Wow.. forty roll ups a day! However you have stopped smoking after 32 years is amazing. Relating to this you have painted a beautiful poem which has been selected as the poem of the day.
