Standing for hours on the Port Road
With classmates I was only 8 years old
Waiting excitedly for the Queen
A Rolls Royce passes and the Queen is just barely seen
Then as a police officer in the crowd
On the Town Hall she waved with the crowd loud
These were all memories of Queen Elizabeth
Our monarch of 70 years reigning in a long stretch
There were times to test her
Princess Diana dying and Prince Andrew issues did occur
Prince Harry and Meghan leaving
All culminating in the passing of Prince Phillip in grieving
We have lived in the second Elizabethan age
Now ending in the final service she gave
For she served her people to the last
And our flags are all at half mast
She is for the ages now remembered by all.
