Do you write to please?
Or perhaps to tease,
Those who would criticise you,
Do you try to appease?
Put them at ease,
Is that why you do what you do.

Does it feel the norm?
To create a storm,
If it does then ask yourself why,
Do you feel warm,
When words you deform,
Just to make an innocent cry.

Are you always right,
Never contrite,
Is your aim in life to annoy?
Do you aim to incite?
Others ire to ignite,
In reality does it really bring joy?

Do you shout loud,
While part of a crowd,
Are you incapable of standing alone?
Does it make you proud?
Those who feel cowed,
Can't say they don't like your tone.

Words can bring pain,
Drive others insane,
They can also help others to cope,
From hurting refrain,
Then try to attain,
An ability to bring people hope.

Though some won't agree,
You hold the key,
To do good or cause others strife
To set others free,
You don't need a degree,
