Sinkers AKA Deeksie. This is a sumptuous poem. From the beautifully descriptive 'petroleum translucent wings' at the outset to the delicate and enticing alliteration of 'delight a flies flight loss'. The imagery of the second stanza is painted so precisely and complete that surface of harmony between sky and water, life and eternity. The very personal third stanza starts with a sensual caress and radiates lyrically and figuratively to express the carefree two alone, together, all the world in that little drifting craft of romantic seclusion. The last stanza is so generous looking to the future and musing on a distant glimmer that their love may through time spark a faint but eternal glimmer. Beautiful work. A pleasure bestowed.
