Until We Meet Again Poem by Belle Wassermeister

Until We Meet Again

Rating: 4.7

My food just doesn't taste good anymore;
I don't enjoy it like I did before.
The stars no longer shine
as when you were still mine;
each window that I had is now a door.

The colors that I see, no longer bright.
The whole world now to me is black and white.
I can find nothing good,
though I know that I should;
I struggle through a day that's always night.

I know that I will see you once again;
it's not a case of 'if' but only 'when'.
So meanwhile I will try
to curb the urge to cry.
I'm coming, Sweetheart; I will see you then!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is dedicated to my husband, Richard, who passed away just a little more than a month ago. Ever since then, I have been battling a deep, dark depression, even though I know that this separation is not permanent, that because of Jesus Christ, all of us will be resurrected and be able to see our loved ones again.

When we lose a beloved one, part of us goes with him or her and it does take sometime for the wound to heal. I believe that you are healed now. Beautiful poem

A very touching write.Your love for your husband shines through it. Let me quote from this poem- I know that I will see you once again; it's not a case of " if" but only " when" . So meanwhile I will try to curb the urge to cry. I'm coming, Sweetheart; I will see you then!
