Sing of love poor wretched bird, Sing softly in your gilded cage. Sing of freedom little bird, Hark not the self appointed sage.
Lora, if you're going to write formal verse, you need to know what you're doing. Read some good formal poems by Elizabeth Bishop if you want to move beyond awkward phrasing and conventional expressions. If you have time, check out my new website: jeffersoncarterverse.com Tell me how you like it. Yrs, JC
Thank you for taking time to comment. To be perfectly honest, I am not striving to become a poet of renown. I simply write my feelings, what my heart dictates. I admire the poets of long ago, with their old fashioned sentiments and what are now considered to be worn-out or conventional expressions. I like referring to them because they express how I feel, and modern words or phrases just wouldn't feel right to me. But I thank you for your input. It is appreciated. Lora
And lets love untill the day we die A great wish made in a few words... I like it...thanks for sharing
