You never promised that you would

I watched the flakes fall through the blind

Bri, I've checked my postings page and can see that I've left replies of some sort, although they don't appear to be showing below - a common issue with PH. Don't know if they make a lot of sense because I wrote the second when I thought the first had caught fire and blown away. Again, my thanks. Martin Turner would be a very good name to add to that list of poets worth reading.10 of his are listed I think. One of the finest writers ever to post on here, and there have been many good ones.

2 - Crap! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! i just managed to lose my second set of comments on this. if you send a message to me re part one of my commenting, i'll make myself try to reconstruct what i lost. i liked stanza 9 especially. do you know Revolution 9 song? i don't know the rest of the lyrics and had to Google " number 9 song" to even get the song & artists' name. ha! bri ;) p.s. i'll now check out one of the poets you've suggested in your PH 'bio'.

" Frieze" seemed to be the most appropriate word in the context (homonym) to represent the rigid pattern of understanding I'd mistakenly imposed on reality. Clear as mud, but I'm sure you can see where I was trying to go with it. Revolution 9. I liked some Beatles stuff but didn't think it was exactly " catchy" ! ! Thanks for giving this one the works, Bri

! - interesting Poet's Notes. i looked up " frieze" and can't fit it into poem. i don't suppose you meant freeze? i've never paid much attention [ YEARS AGO] to rock song lyrics and usually didn't know the words. after 2 stanzas i'm beginning to feel that way a bit now. i mean i don't compute. i DO KNOW (most of) the words. [& i do appreciate rock music; not too harsh though].

Ha.. Yeah, you risk your time when you post anything on PH, Bri. Frieze? I was being obscure. " A blur of white" is more like the actual reality we try to make sense of - and we probably make sense of reality by imposing patterns on it. Frieze (homonym) was meant to represent that fixed pattern and contrast it with the " blur" of reality.
