Unexpected Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

Unexpected

This period I said I must talk
If the heat isn't too much for you I am disturbed
What is the purpose of living if our safety is not ensured?
We need total liberty from this men on top

The unexpected they have done
What we expected they left undone
The leaders of this country that I was born
Not just their promises I fear their return

Heaven they promised us is not yet sure
All that glitters is gold in their tongue
Among all God has given us they still make our life unsafe
To them all that matters is them themselves
