Understanding Poem by Bree Swart

Understanding

Struggling to channel all of my feelings,
Trying to decipher between wrong and right,
It's like I don't yet know the meaning,
Of this terrible thing we call 'life'.

I try my best to understand,
But im afraid I just can't cope,
I take a walk through this promise land,
As I begin to tie the rope.

Surrounded by my painful past,
Bad overules the good,
It has all gone by so fast,
Just as it should.

I tied the rope,
I gazed in a stare,
The rope was hurting me, I began to choke,
So I started to kick the chair.

I remember thinking,
I just want this to stop,
My life is just shrinking,
Im going to drop.

Drop away from this neverending pain,
Sacrafice my life,
No more crying in the rain,
I rely on this knife.
