Under The Influence Poem by Ray Hansell

Under The Influence

I wore my black tie
Got me a black eye
It was a bull's eye
From a bad guy

I didn't mean to imply
Those horses couldn't fly
But if they can't tell me why
They're up there in the sky

Could it be I had too much to drink?
Or was it something I smoked?
I remember taking a deep hit
Because I almost chocked

But I still see those horses
Stampeding on the clouds
As hundreds of people
Are there in a crowd

When will those horses
Be back on the ground
Back here on earth
Running all around

I know I might sound silly
With the things that I say
But maybe this is a lesson
About over indulgence every day

You still see those horses stampeding on the clouds. This poem is very brilliantly penned.
