An excellent description of love. True love is indescribable with words but your poem comes very close.

I believe there are different levels of love, the love of our children and soul mates being the highest level. But the love of our fellow man, the universal love, is the most unselfish. We may not have this love returned to us, but this is what unconditional love is all about. We ask for nothing and expect nothing in return, yet we continue to offer our love. I think this is the purest form of love. Now, if we would all practice it, there just might be paradise on Earth. Well, we can dream, can't we?
