Umar The Great Poem by Muzahidul Reza

Umar The Great

Rating: 5.0

Several hundred years ago, a man was sitting under a date tree
On a mat to perform the prime activities of his country,
Foreigners came
Told the native about their aims
That they did come to see Hazrat Umar (RA) ,
Their Emperor almost half of the world;
The native pointed to that date tree
Seeing Umar (RA)there the foreigners became speechless;

That is the real honesty, real teaching of Islam
Hazrat Umar (RA)was such
At night who went out in disguised
To know the conditions of the subjects,
One night he carried a sack of flour to the hut of a widow
Whose children were crying for food,
Umar thought it was one of his self responsibilities
As the Head of the State.
