Ukraine- Russia War- Hello Presidents Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Ukraine- Russia War- Hello Presidents

How many bombs have exploded in your cities,
how many apartments have been badly destroyed and damaged?

how many people have lost their homes and unity,
how many families are now homeless and have no solidarity?

how many people have died so far in that war which is so endless and merciless,
how many soldiers and people have perished in such callousness?

how many sons have been injured and dead in that conflict,
how many children have lost their soldier-fathers?

how many children miss and cry for their parents,
how many mothers mourn for their lost sons and children?

how many families are now elsewhere as refugees,
how many stay in camps and tents for shelter in another country?

how many neighborhoods are desolate and silent,
how many streets are full of debris and isolation?

how many bullets from guns have been fired killing innocent people,
how many bombs and missiles have fallen consecutively?

how many have faced injuries and bloodshed,
how many have ended in the graveyards as corpses?

how many young have died and gone,
how many elderly and old are still suffering the wrath of war?

how many have stopped to see the morning sunlight,
how many have closed their eyes and left forever?

how many will ever overcome the memories of a war that brought tears and fears upon them,
how many will not flip thro the pages of history with sadness when this war is over?

how many have gained nothing but despair from this war
which is fought so proudly,
how many have lost their homes and families for the challenges the presidents have undertaken to defy each other?

how many will forgive these leaders who chose to fight without any respect for life and humanity,
how many still pray and await that this war will end and the dawn will usher a sunrise of peace which will last forever?
