'Ugly Beauties' is an oxymoron when apparently contradictory things are fused together! In man and in the world, we see this intermixing of good and evil! Life too is a mix of sorrow and joy! We cannot sieve one out of the other! All we can do is to enhance the good and eliminate the evil. Life will go on with all its contradictions! Unfortunately, the ugliness is man made and to escape it, there has to be initiative from man. A poem pregnant with meaning!

It is dreadful when I have thought a person beautiful because of the sweet charm of his behaviour... until the day he spoke of the black people and that day he became irredeemably ugly. charm though he tried. 10++

Well, I try to find something beautiful in everyone and usually I can. I think these days, we hear so much 'ugliness' on the news that we forget to do that. I'm sad for the youth of today as when I was a youngster, even though there were bad things going on, it wasn't nearly as bad as nowadays. No stabbings on the streets everyday, no terrorism, and the 2nd world war was done and finished. We were the flower children, make love not war, peace and love......

There is good and bad in everyone all lives are full of regrets, I look around and see more good in people than bad. For even the bad can seek and find redemption. And after reading this poem Soran it makes me good to feel alive. It mirrors aspects of life and it's choices. Thank you Soran for this marvellous write.10++ and added to favs.
