Did you know that cats are just under two points on the road if you hit them? Cats are the worst, unless the cat is more than 150lbs when fully grown. House cats are the worst.
.....love these two stanzas...truly a pleasure to read... The sun was warm but the wind was chill. You know how it is with an April day When the sun is out and the wind is still, You're one month on in the middle of May. But if you so much as dare to speak, A cloud comes over the sunlit arch, A wind comes off a frozen peak, And you're two months back in the middle of March. A bluebird comes tenderly up to alight And turns to the wind to unruffle a plume, His song so pitched as not to excite A single flower as yet to bloom. It is snowing a flake; and he half knew Winter was only playing possum. Except in color he isn't blue, But he wouldn't advise a thing to blossom.
Stanza three is amazing.Frost does it again with his understanding of nature, verse and the human spirit.
Frost's aim in life is to combine what he loves to do with making a living -in his own life he moved from a vocation -teaching -to his avocation, writing poetry. No wonder he is such a great poet, combing great insights with the most subtle poetic technique.
The last paragraph is why poetry is written: So that someday, someone can write something as beautiful and insightful. It has the two great Frost traits: The depths it reaches into the human spirit, and the almost excessive discussion of nature.
