Two Suicide Notes Poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

(I)

I wish to die with my love.
They never want us to live together-
we are two banks of the same river,
still they never support a bridge to exist.
I have no other option-
my boat has capsized in the river.
If I marry her against their will,
law will not spare me
as she is fourteen only.
I wish to live in peace with her in extra-terrestrial space.
Don't conduct my rituals-
this may separate us in after life.

(II)

I wish to die with my love,
otherwise they will build a wall between us-
we will not be able to see each other.
In heavenly abode I wish to stay with him happily.
I have no other way.
Our boat is capsized and we don't know swimming.
It's better to sink as it's more easier
than to call someone,
than to wait for someone's help.
As he wishes, never conduct my rituals too.
