Two ravens passed overhead today
As I swam through the maelstrom of what people say
When they're hiding what's happening in every way
Through the dark and cloudy presence of the light of day
I couldn't catch their shadow though I know it passed
Cause moments like this don't ever last
The truth catches up with them, it always has
And they're buried in the shadows of a dark and gloomy past
Thin as a spiderweb shadow on a full moon night
Cast against a crumbling surface in the pale moonlight
Before it's dawn it's gone, but the question lingers on
'Whose sight it was was dimmed through the dark and gloomy night? '
If we should only question what transpires in the dark
We might could learn the lesson that could lead us to the spark
Of the truth that catches fire once the darkness fades away
Illumined by the presence of the sacred light of day
There are two sides to every tail, one faces up and one faces down
One is warming in the light of day the other never found
One sees Heaven, the other sees below, one holds leaven, the other's writ low
There are two sides to every tale, one faces fire but the other feels the glow
Two ravens passed overhead today
As I swam around the whirlpool of what people say
When they're hiding what's happening every day
Through the dark and cloudy present to the light of day
