Two Little Birds Poem by Susanta Pattnayak

Two Little Birds

Two little birds on a guava tree,
Where two branches meet so quietly.
Straw in their beaks, flying near and far,
Building a nest beneath the stars.

Piece by piece, twig by twig,
Through the wind, through the fig.
Fallin' down, but still they try,
With chirps that lift each other high.

The wife bird sings as the nest is made,
The husband hums in the evening shade.
They rest aside, body to body,
Whispers soft like a flowing tide.

Chirp by chirp, heart to heart,
They find strength to restart.
Day turns dusk, dusk turns day,
Still their love won't fade away.

Then came a morning, sky so wide,
Two tiny beaks peeked from inside.
Mama bird brings food with grace,
Papa watches from a distance.

Eyes not open, but life is near,
A gentle world, so bright and clear.
From falling straws to newborn song,
Their little home has grown so strong.

Side by side, rain or sun,
Their journey slow, but love has won.
In that nest, where branches bend,
Two little birds saw life begin.

Two little birds on a guava tree...
Built a world for hearts free...
Not the end, but a song begun,
Under the sky, beneath the sun...
