Two Children Dead In The North Poem by Paul Warren

Two Children Dead In The North

We are given some tasks to do
That are sacred through and through
And when a baby is gifted to one
It is your duty to raise and love each and everyone

If you leave this duty unfulfilled
What is left for you in the deal
Do you blame others for your deeds
Whilst your self centred excesses do you feed

Being parents is not for the fame
Or the Government money given we exclaim
For each one that is failed in the mix
If they are dead it can't be fixed

So the law has to step in
And the media make such a din
The old chestnut of we are all to blame
Does nothing except fan the flames.
