Two And A Half- A Vagrant Staff Poem by Sam Sam

Two And A Half- A Vagrant Staff

The night was dark, and the lights were lit
Crowd cheering, to the tasty food, goes all the credit

A boy, beside his friends, waited to be served
All of a sudden, his attention got diverged

Along with the wife, a man in muddy clothes
passed by the perfumed hotel doors

The wife was carrying a sleeping child in her arms
With a small covering, she tried to keep him warm

They sat on the footpath, and then, observed
the boy whose food had now been served

The boy thought, "Ignorance of these parents have brought
An innocent child in the hands of hunger and drought"

After finishing his toothsome meal, he got on his bike to return back
The two rushed towards him, and started for some food, to beg

The boy had a soft-heart, so, he took out a not for sake of the kid
But was it really a right decision...his hands were confused to give

The man took the money, and both of them thanked
the boy for putting forward in dark, a helping hand

They both rushed to the shop; the wife shook the child,
and told him to wake up, "God has sent food for the night! "

The boy trembled within, seeing them so happy over a small treat
How happy was the kid, waiting eagerly to eat!

The paradigm of the boy shifted, as the family began to laugh
It couldn't be a sin, to give to, Two and a half-A vagrant staff!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sometimes, we become extremists in the case of right and wrong. But, most of the times, it's a matter not to think but to feel. Our paradigms should match the reality, and for that, do what feels right as long as the heart goes along with it.
