Twice Stolen But Not Forgotten Poem by Ray Lucero

Twice Stolen But Not Forgotten

Around 1820 American missionaries landed
Bringing good news of Jesus Christ and God
Hawaiians, soon were treated heavy handed
Paradise was stolen through theft and fraud

Recently history has once again been repeated
Politicians and developers have now prevailed
By fire 'n wind Native Hawaiians again defeated
While a greedy bunch of criminals go un-jailed

Real estate tycoons 'n builders have taken charge
With big plans to make Lahaina their 'Smart City'
As latest AI-tech makes it's way there aboard a barge,
While perpetrators of this crime feel not shame or pity
