Twain

How handy for your old poet it was,
what it isn't for your colloquialist,
to have had 'the twain' to say
to rhyme with 'rain';

not to have had to add another,
because nothing wet
rhymed with 'two' and 'couple',
but rhyming with 'three'
was 'watery'.
