Rating: 5.0

My Dove and I 'save a lot of time' by not having TV service at home,
but we have a TV and, as I sit staring at the big black screen, my mind through my life does roam.
Unlike my wife, who grew up without TV, I grew up sitting in front of a 'set'.
There happiness, laughter, guidance, new experiences, AND education I did get.

I always thought it was funny in the introduction scenes of Superman when they guy was shooting a pistol at him and he would just catch the bullets in his hand. (That wasn't the funny part.) The funny part was when the gun was empty, the guy threw the gun at him, and Superman DUCKED.

Maybe Superman did'n't wish the gun to get bent. Guns cost more than bullets and producer probabl wanted the show to economize. : )

Jack Benny is my absolute favorite; I am actually a member, on facebook, of the International Jack Benny Fan Club; a GREAT group of dedicated, fun-loving fans from around the globe. I recommend it to any Benny fan.

A great recollection of tv and yes those theme songs stay with you for sure. I grew up with tv and also spent a ot of time out doors, hang on that's called balance, as in most things. As I still say to my dog called Snowy, .... goooooo Rinnie! ! !

I watched all those cartoon programs not at the period that mentioned by this poet, but latter..i have never developed the habit of sitting in front of TV, as I used to read that TV is an idiot box, but recently with all those informative programs, I watch TV once in a while, though I had watched 'Roots', a well documented serial until the last episode. Thank you, Bri Edwards, you have brought me back to my with TV and without TV days! !

It's a big list 'Bri' and, ha! I, an Australian, know nearly every one of them except Captain Kangaroo. I guess we had the real thing and wouldn't have been fooled into believing one could attain the rank.

it is ok (sort of) that someone gave this poem a 5 rating (out of 10!) . this is the poet typing. WAIT A MINUTE! ! ! I JUST SUBMITTED THIS ABOUT FIVE (5) MINUTES AGO. HOW COULD ANYONE HAVE HAD TIME TO READ AND RATE IT? ? ? SOMETHING FISHY I DO SMELL! anyway i would give it at least an 8, and i'm NOT biased. bri i rate poems by leaving a comment or sending a message to the poet. maybe someone is just jerking poet chains? someone working for poemhunter? no, i am NOT paranoid. bri
