This is virtually a HOW TO guide to seeking inspiration that can be turned into poetry. I love it. I would have read a dozen more stanzas detailing the process you identified. In the second stanza you are searching for the marvelous
in what might appear to be nothing special - until the poet discovers it. That's what poet are gifted at: finding the gold in the dross. The key words in the second stanza for me are MEANING and INTENSITY, the second is the poet's mindset, the first is what he finds. You refer to yourself as a MERE POET, and MERE doesn't mean small;
it means characteristic, or universal, or deep-diving (!)
