Tummy. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Tummy.

Rating: 5.0

Some ten centimeters in radius
around the belly button
at the centre,
no definitive size,
highly variable in gluttons.

Some pot-bellied,
some swollen balls,
some bulged cones,
some up and down
when the bearer dances,
result of unregulated feed
putting in a to z without need.

Thanks to God,
not given any bone,
on either sides and
in front of man.
People think it a trivial one,
brain, heart and lungs are vital organs.
It is the centre of
all our actions,
stoves burn,
pangs of hunger
needs satisfaction.

A total shut down,
no food and water
to all organs,
results in loss of
function
and desolation.

O snatchers, bribe takers,
tax evaders, embezzlers,
your tummies would
never be filled,
you are white collar burglars.

Honest earning,
truthful thinking,
intelligent spending,
regular saving
is a life worth living,
keeps you always satisfied.
If tummy were not there
many of those misdeeds
might have disappeared.
