I was born in a bank - - my mother went there and made a deposit

A handful of decades ago
No one knew about us.
Nobody knew we were in love.
Even our parents had no clue.

Maybe someone figured it out,
Although of that I have my doubt.
Right now you are part of my past;
It seems our love just couldn't last.
Eons from now I may forget.
