Trying Out Idioms Poem by J Sheba Anandhi

While trying out idioms
That do not make sense literally
Wanna leave out topics
Like that of a tricky hot potato;

In an attempt to reason
Though at least somewhat logically
Gotta dwell in imagination
Which is a sweet little piece of cake;

Distraction is a bad thing
If it happens a great deal frequently,
It isn't a very good thing
If motivation is found once in a blue moon;

With hiking as an aim to fulfill
What if it could be executed facilely and easily!
Compared with cycling uphill
Walking could be seen as a beautiful bed of roses;

Damp and uncomfortable in a row,
A usual feature when it occurs continually,
Sometimes this could be an inspiration too,
You know, when it is raining cats and dogs;

The world would be free from corruption
Only when the pink pigs fly,
Given a topic for a general discussion
One shouldn't always be a devil's advocate,
With that said, still being one
Would later appear a missed boat
For the stubborn person,
Well, who would wanna argue often
With the apple of one's own eye!
Withal, it is a tedious task
To zip the obstinate being's lip.
