Trying Not To Die Poem by Alison Mujati

Trying Not To Die

'Trying Not to Die':

The hero of this digital stage
A pixelated warrior, in a never-ending age
Of trials and tribulations, of waves and woes
adversary comes, in endless and deadly flow

A wave crashes, a horde of enemies bold
laser beams and missiles, a hail of deadly cold
I dodge and weave, with quick reflexes true
And strike back with my powers, to see them through

foes arrive more fierce and strong
Their attacks a maelstrom, a whirlwind all day long
I've leveled up, my skills now honed and fine
taking them down with ease, one by one,
I fix them in a line

It brings the bosses, the big cheeses of pain
With wrath and fury,
a spectacle to behold in vain
I've got the power-ups,
the secret codes and more
I take them down with style,
I walk away from the score

They come the hardest,
the final test of might
A swarm of enemies,
a never-ending, deadly fight
I've got skills, speed, agility and guile
I take them down with ease,
I walk away with a smile

I'm trying not to die, in this digital game of life
Where adversaries come, in an endless, deadly strife
But I'm the hero, the warrior, the champion of this test
I'll keep on fighting, till I pass with flying colors, and rest.
