Truthfully Poem by Okello Baloyi

Truthfully

I could tell, the world was about to end, when I lost you for a minute, over my selfish mistake, for me everything that mattered was lost in a wind, my actions peeled an onion and left both hearts in tears, self-medication felt like suicide on a rainy day.

Lust came in my dreams, I was sleepy enough not to remember how I disconnected our love, but memories of me and you never fade away, as if you were looking down on me, I asked myself, 'what should I call myself', you were hurt by the one you love, I lost my mind.

I am to blame, with or without permission, love will forever bind two people, losing you felt like dying, I had no life of my own because you're everything to my soul, our love may not be the same, but I yearn for yours, as I'll relearn you repeatedly
