TRUSTED YOU ON DAY ONE

The calmness in your speech was like that of the ocean at noon,
The softness, the tenderness of your words was nothing like I had ever heard,
Filled with sincerity and honesty they had me mesmerized,
Your eyes were locked at me the entire time we spoke,
I could see right through you, you know?

Truth be told, I have had Pistanthrophobia for a long time,
You know, the fear of trusting of others but,
There was something unusual about you,
It might be the first day that we met but it felt like I knew you my whole life
Like you were already a part of me.

Your words and very presence made me feel at home around you,
My walls have always been up so high around strangers but,
They crumbled and vanished when I met you,
The world is so big and filled with cruel people but I'm glad my heart didn't lie,
It didn't lie when it allowed me to trust you the same day I met you.
