Trust is a precious gift, Earned with compassion
But it is easily taken, Leaving scars that cannot be hidden
Trust breaks the hearts of those closest to us
And leaves our world spinning in doubt
We ponder the unknown trustworthiness of others
And our thoughts of fear overtake us
We question our sanity, Am I good enough?
Am I being too much?
Do they hold resentment towards me?
Our thoughts consume our minds like a relentless storm
Causing our heads to ache, And our hearts to mourn
