Trust Poem by Namita Rani Panda

Trust

Do you know why a child is so secure in the lap of his mother,
A toddler takes his first step without fear holding the finger of his father,
Lovers melt in each other like drops of rain water,
A lotus embraces with her pink petal arms the bumblebee that sucks her nectar,
A bird, after tireless flight, perches on a branch for respite and shelter
One bares his heart to his friend and with no inhibition does everything share,
A patient surrenders his life to the doctor in the operation theatre,
A farmer tills his land with the hope of timely shower,
A parent hands over the pupil of his eye to the teacher to build his future,
A daughter swirls like a wheel at the top of a bamboo pole held by her father to pacify their hunger?
It is the slender silken string of trust that holds things together
And makes every relationship meaningful and stronger,
Which should be handled with utmost care
Or else, in on time, it will be shattered like a glass ware, beyond repair.
